Starting my own vintage eyewear company has given me even more opportunities to see shoppers and clients embrace their own personal style.

Trends I've Explored for Giant Vintage and Other Outlets

Why do so many fashion fans scroll through the Giant Vintage Insta looking for inspiration? Mostly because our collection of deadstock glasses, reworked originals, and reimagined styles are just gorgeous. I'm so lucky to get the chance to pull these glasses away from potentially ending up in a landfill. I work with my expert stylists to bring glasses back to life before putting them on shelves for avid fashionistas.

The other reason our styles are so popular is that I've worked in fashion for many years and know what's hot and what's not. Of course, those trends change all the time, and I pride myself on having my finger on the pulse of the sunglasses fashion heartbeat.

Here are just a few recent trends I've been exploring with Giant Vintage and others.

Bayonetta Glasses 

I loved talking to PureWow about the Bayonetta glasses trend. Bayonetta glasses are inspired by the Japanese video game heroine of the same name. This iconic character, Bayonetta, has a huge following. People love that she's both sexy and smart, and her glasses help cement that impression.

 

Bayonetta's clothes might be ethereal and elaborate, but your wardrobe doesn't have to be. One of the best things about Bayonetta glasses is that they go with just about any outfit. Whatever comes out of your closet will suit these trend-setting pieces.

So, what are Bayonetta glasses? They're late '90s/early 2000s influenced pieces; a trend that's come back around and stuck around. They're usually rectangular, with a slim silhouette and dark frames. Think Megan Fox and Angelina Jolie in the early "noughties" and you can picture these glasses clearly. You only have to drop onto TikTok for a few minutes to see how quickly this glasses trend has taken over.

Lana Del Rey-Inspired Styles 

From chunky frames to heart-shaped glasses that match any wardrobe choice from jeans to designer dresses, Lana Del Rey has inspired so many eyewear choices. Like many style collection curators, I've looked to Lana to get inspiration for some of our own top categories of sunglasses.

Lana loves a retro look and that suits me down to the ground. It's pretty clear that I'm passionate about vintage clothes and accessories, and that ethos is what drives a good portion of Giant Vintage's catalog. Steampunk Styles 

Just like goth and punk, steampunk is a fashion movement that attracts people with a real commitment to its stylings. I've loved picking out pieces that echo steampunk styles, from goggle-inspired round lenses to narrow, metallic frames.

Steampunk has really hit the mainstream in the last few years, with designers ranging from Alexander McQueen to Jean-Paul Gaultier bringing aspects of the style to the catwalk. Embrace the macabre with these sleek frames decorated with skulls and other colorful designs. The overall look is reminiscent of el Día de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead. At this time, the otherworldly is supposed to be closer to the living. These glasses use a tattoo art style close to the colorful skulls seen this time of year.

Annabelle's 23rd Birthday Surprise Collection

I put this collection together to celebrate my 23rd birthday, and what a year it's been. Our company has gone from strength to strength, and I've seen our glasses worn by so many superstars. But today, it was my turn to wear some of my top choices that I've unearthed over the past 12 months.
